Advisory services for people setting up a business

The goal of the Business Development Division is to make it easier and more attractive for people to set up and run private companies in Oslo. The Division provides free information and advice on how to go about setting up a company. We have a broad range of information brochures from a number of government agencies, as well as some brochures we have compiled ourselves. The Business Development Division can help you find out what rights and duties you have as a business person, and what permits and authorisations you need. Some of our brochures can be downloaded here.

When starting your own business you might find our free course on setting up a business useful. The course is held every Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 3 PM, and provides an introduction to the most important aspects of setting up a business.

The Business Development Division also organises lectures on various topics of interest to people setting up their own company.
The Business Development Division also offers free advice on drawing up a business plan. A business plan is a useful tool to help you realise your business idea. The business plan helps you identify what you need to do and where to begin.

The Business Development Division aims to put users in contact with the person best able to answer their questions. We aim to respond to all requests within 24 hours, with either a preliminary or final answer.

If you want to set up your own company, or have already started operating and need information or advice, please do not hesitate to contact us on tel.: +47 23 46 00 10, send an e-mail to servicekontoret@nae.oslo.kommune.no or drop by our office at Tollbugata 27 (entrance from Øvre Slottsgate).
